Special Congregation Meeting

Join us for a special congregational meeting which will include a vote. For absentee ballot information, talk to a Ministry Board member or contact the church office. Questions, talk to a Ministry Board member.

 

Introduction:

 

At our informational meetings – Sunday, May 4 and Thursday, May 15, we shared an estimate for the proposed church additions. The estimate was provided by a Nor-Son architectural estimator. It is the most accurate information available at this phase. This is without seeking actual trade bids from contractors. The intention was to present a realistic but conservative estimate for the congregation’s information.

 

The vote today is to engage Nor-Son in developing construction documents and to secure actual contractor bids.

 

This vote is TO:

· Approve the design concept as proposed

· Approve the completion of construction documents

· Secure contractor bids creating a construction budget based on this design

 

This vote is NOT:

· To approve what portion of the building project will be built.

· To approve funding and potential financing required for the addition(s).

Motion to be Voted On:

 

To authorize the Ministry Board to -

 

  1. Engage Nor-son to complete construction documents and secure contractor bids. This expenditure is not to exceed $58,000.

  2. Appoint an Implementation Team (I Team) to work with Nor-Son on construction documents and contractor bids.

  3. Appoint a Construction Finance Team (CF Team) to define financing options on the proposed design concept and to monitor the costs for the construction documents.

 

After all documents are completed and shared, the congregation will vote again to decide whether to proceed with the additions and financing options.
