WEDDINGS
Congratulations on your engagement! We are honored that you are considering Peace Lutheran Church to help you plan your special day and prepare for your life together.
Your marriage ceremony is a service of worship, whether at the church or at a special location. When a Christian man wants to marry a Christian woman and begin their married life together, they are asking God to bless their marriage. Therefore, any wedding that takes place at Peace or is performed by their pastor must reflect our church’s beliefs.
The most important thing is worshiping God, the creator who gives us the greatest love of all in Jesus! Our sincere hope is that we can share in this special time for you and be a place of faith for your future life together.
Preliminary Arrangements
All who wish to plan a wedding service at Peace (members and nonmembers) are asked to fill out a Marriage Information Form and a Building/Facility Use Application. Completing these forms allows the pastor to learn more about you and to begin the scheduling process.
Wedding Coordinator
If your wedding will be at Peace, Karen Lotito, our wedding coordinator will work with you to plan the details of the wedding day. Print and complete the Wedding Planning Form as much as possible and bring it to your first meeting with Karen.
Premarital Counseling
Meeting with the pastor will help you decide on the pre-marriage counseling you may want. We believe that pre-marriage counseling is important and effective in building a strong vital marriage together.
Option One—We offer 4 sessions of counseling with the pastor using the PREPARE / ENRICH. You can check out their website at www.prepare-enrich.com. The cost is $70 per couple.
Option Two— The State of Minnesota believes pre-marriage counseling is important too and offers couples a discount on their marriage license if they commit to 12 hours of pre-marriage counseling.
